FEATURES - ZOE LUCKER By ITV1 Entertainment. 12/09/2006 Zoe is back on our screens, starring with Sarah Barrand, a co-star from Footballer's Wives in 'Zoe Lucker and Sarah Barrand's... Date With Dalai' In 2001, Zoe got her big break and became a household name on the show Footballers Wives. Her character, Tanya Turner was Queen superbitch of Earl's Park FC, she was scheming, spiteful and manipulative. Zoe says that although she absolutely lived playing Tanya, she was nothing like her. Zoe became incredibly well known and liked for her role in the successful tv drama, however the pressure of fame took its toll on Zoe and she began to suffer panic attacks and became increasingly unhappy. Realising that she had serious problems to overcome, she focussed her attention on a self-help to happiness book, written by the Dalai Lama. Gradually her anxieties began to disappear. Zoe wanted to see for herself the man who completely changed her life, so along with co-star and friend Sarah Barrand she took a trip to India to visit the Dalai Lama. Zoe & Sarah's journey Zoe and Sarah live together in London, they have been friends for years since they worked on Footballers' Wives together. Although India was a complete change from their usual lives, they loved every minute. For Zoe the whole three weeks in India were amazing, the main highlights for her were listening to the Dalai Lama's spring teachings and helping out at the Sikh temple, an incredibly slick operation where they feed up to 100,000 people a day.
