BOMBSHELL

Zoe Lucker wanted for 'Mucky Major' drama.
April, 2004. By 'The Sun'

Footballers' Wives actress Zoe Lucker is said to be producers' favourite to star in a drama based on the "Mucky Major" army sex scandal. The 30-year-old, who plays Tanya Turner in Footballers' Wives, could take the lead role in Bombshell.

The drama will be made by Shed Productions - the same company that makes Footballers' Wives and Bad Girls. The ITV drama's plot will be based on the affair between King's Royal Hussars Major Alastair Ross and Warrant Officer Angela McConnell.

An insider on the big-budget drama told The Sun: "Bombshell will be based on the most famous army sex scandals. "It's already being dubbed 'Army Wives' and will show what goes on behind closed doors. The Mucky Major scandal is being used as inspiration."

McConnell, 41, told a tribunal that Major Ross boasted of bedding two Army clerks, a female staff sergeant, a cadet, his wife's best friend and a group of air hostesses. The major was allowed to resign on full pension while she was demoted to corporal.

Filming of 'Bombshell' is scheduled to start in August.
